A delegation of nine tribology professors from China visited the International Scientific and Educational Center «BaltTribo-Polytechnic» of the Institute of Machinery, Materials and Transport of SPbPU. The visit was organized on the recommendation of academicians Nikolai Myshkin (Belarus) and Irina Goryacheva (Russia) on the initiative of Tsinghua University.
The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the Tribology Center in St. Petersburg, as well as to discuss partner programs. The scientific supervisor of the project is Margarita Skotnikova.
During the visit, a round table was held, at which all members of the Chinese and Russian delegations spoke. Issues such as the development of plastic lubricants, surface engineering and tribology of coatings, tribo-testing and monitoring of tribosystems, modeling of contact interaction in tribology, nanotribology were discussed.
Postgraduate students of the ISEC actively participated in discussions in English, accompanied the guests during a tour of the SPbPU campus, and attended an evening musical concert in the White Hall.
As a result of the meeting, scientific and pedagogical ties were established with Chinese colleagues, valuable information was obtained in the field of nanotribology, and a decision was made to continue cooperation and exchange experience within the framework of scientific and educational programs.
