He is accompanied by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev.
During the trip, the guests toured the University and met with the Vice Chancellor, His Highness Dr. Fahad Bin Al Julanda Al-Said.
The ongoing cooperation is an example of successful international links. In May 2025, the SQU delegation visited Kazan to sign a memorandum of academic exchange.
Dr Safin noted during his ongoing visit, “We were pleased to welcome 10 SQU students at our Summer University 2025 project, and 15 of our students are currently studying at your university. We have moved beyond language training to economics and international relations.”
Dr Al-Said emphasized, “The Center for Petroleum Research of SQU and the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies have laid a great foundation with their research. This includes joint research commissioned by Omani oil companies, joint papers, and participation in international conferences. I think this new research agreement will become a big milestone on our way.”
Lenar Safin expressed his willingness to invite SQU employees for research internships at KFU labs for up to 6 months, starting next year. He also spoke with KFU students currently hosted at Sultan Qaboos University.
The signed research agreement details the conditions and procedures for joint scientific projects. They will be financed through the International Program for Joint Research Funding, which is targeted at such strategic work involving professors, PhD students, and undergraduate and graduate students.
