Honorable colleagues, dear friends, ladies and gentlemen,
Good morning!
First of all, please let me warmly welcome all guests, friends and experts who are participating in the Inauguration Conference of the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium on behalf of Shenyang Jianzhu University and the joint sponsors of the Consortium; furthermore, let me show heartfelt thanks to Beijing University of Civil Engineering and all architectural colleagues who have done much work for the successful holding of this conference.
As we all know that, the Belt and Road is a significant and profound international cooperation proposal proposed by the Chinese Government, and it was proposed based on deeply analyzing China and world development demands. It reflects the shared vision of the countries along the Belt and Road of China. Since 4 years from the implementation of the proposal, the Chinese Government has actively promoted the construction of the Belt and Road, strengthened the communication and negotiation with the countries along it, promoted the practical cooperation with these countries and implemented a series of policies and measures. On May 14th, 2019, the 1st The Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum was held in Beijing, which was the forum activity with the highest specification since 4 years from the proposal of the Belt and Road. At the Summit Forum, the target and orientation of the construction and cooperation of the Belt and Road was indicated clearly, the key cooperative fields and action routes were confirmed and a series of active achievements were achieved.
Today, international society have reached more and more consensus with the countries and regions along the Belt and Road, i.e.: natural environment, social policies, economy and culture, etc. of these countries have certain differences and all of these countries are facing complex development challenges, so that, only through international cooperation and innovative development can they better respond to challenges of all aspects.
In order to promote the education, science and technology, culture and talent cultivation, etc. among the universities of the countries and regions along the Belt and Road, comprehensively carry out communication and cooperation, the University Consortium of new Silk Road, the Belt and Road Universities Strategic Consortium, the Belt and Road International Education Development University Education Consortium, The Belt and Road China-Poland University Consortium, etc. have been established from May 2015 till now. The establishment of all of these Belt and Road University Consortiums, University and Colleges Consortiums and Education Consortiums had communicated and worked for promoting the inter-academic communication, scientific research cooperation, cultural communication and policy research as well as think tank, etc. of the countries along the Belt and Road, and it has significant meaning for cultivating compound talents with international view and high quality and promoting world economic growth and development and construction of Eurasia.
As an architectural university, all of us are with the mission of cultivating talents for the construction of human living environment. On the aspects of construction and development of the Belt and Road, we have similar construction of subjects and disciplines, which is the shared basis for us to communicate and cooperate.
Today, all of us establish such a consortium with the hope of jointly exploring to cultivate cross-bordering, trans-disciplinary and interdisciplinary new talents for urban and rural areas, promote interactions among teachers and students of the universities and colleges participate in the consortium, better devote to scientific innovation, talent cultivation, cultural communication and promote the overall economic development of the Belt and Road region.
Since many years, Shenyang Jianzhu University has made beneficial exploration on the aspects of internationalized talent cultivation and internationalization of school running surrounding the Belt and Road proposal. We cooperated with Romania Rerasy Manea University and established Confucius Institute, and have successfully held the Belt and Road summer camp activities for many times. We jointly applied and sponsored Confucius class with Czestochowa University of Technology of Poland, we have obtained the first batch of Silk Road Chinese Government Scholarship Project, have established the foundation for talent cultivation, our university have established university level communication relationship with over 80 universities in over 40 countries and regions, such as Russia Don State Technical University, Germany Wismar University, etc. In the operation process, we established Traffic College and Business College for the Belt and Road, which can cultivate more talents for the country. It shall be said that, Shenyang Jianzhu University is located in northeast China, and is in developing times. We will cultivate high technical talents for northeast region and construction of town and country planning. The further implementation of the proposal of the Belt and Road proposes higher requirements for engineering cultivation and construction talent. We seat here to discuss about and agree with the suggestions jointly proposed by President Zhang Ailin just now. So, we express here to actively response and perform our joint responsibilities. We establish the Belt and Road architecture university consortium to promote the comprehensive development of all members of the Belt and Road architecture universities and promote the comprehensive reform of our education and the internationalization process of education through cooperative university operation, co-construction of disciplines and joint cultivation as well as cooperation innovation, etc.
Just now, the President of Armenia University also proposed good suggestions, and he has not only implemented the consortium and our purpose, but also expanded our communication and carried out more activities. The Belt and Road persists on the principle of openness, inclusiveness and mutual benefit cooperation. I am willing to be led by this principle together with you to persist on the development concept of peaceful cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and identification, mutual benefits and win-win, contribute our wisdom and thought for the future development of The Belt and Road architecture universities. And at the same time, I also hope this conference can deepen and expand our cooperative common view on the aspect of the Belt and Road.
