Good morning! I am much honored to get together with all guests here today to jointly congratulate the establishment of the Belt and Road” Architectural University International Consortium. First of all, I show my warmly welcome to the opening of the conference and to the coming of all guests on behalf of Beijing Municipal Education Commission.

Beijing is a beautiful city with capital demeanour, charm of an ancient capital and contemporary spirits. In history, Beijing is the ancient capital of six dynasties of China and it has over 3,000 years of activate history and over 800 years of capital history. It has long profound cultural history. There are many historical sites, such as the Great Wall, Imperial Palace and Temple of Heaven, etc. and there are many traditional arts, such as Peking Opera, Bass Drum and Pingshu, etc.

They are historical imprint and cultural name cards of Beijing, composing the unique charm of this ancient city. 56 nations of people from all regions of China are living there, and their living habits, languages and customs integrate and interpenetrate mutually in long-term communication and has formed the forgive, open and diversified human feature of Beijing. At present, Beijing is actively becoming the political center, cultural center, international communication center and scientific innovative center of China, promoting the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region. It is stepping towards the international first class and livable capital. Therefore, we will further strengthen the education openness extent, support the communication and mutual identification among colleges and universities in Beijing and different regions to improve mutually. With the deep development, peach, development and cooperation of economic globalization, the win-win trend of the times will be stronger, and all countries will be open to each other and become a community of common future. While all countries are pursuing their own interests, they shall consider the other countries’ interests at the same time. While they are searching for their own development, they shall promote joint development. They shall persist on integrating, communicating and mutually identifying different civilizations. Today, the Belt and Road Architecture University International Consortium is just adapted to the new trend of such economic development and new trend of harmonious coexistence of diversified human civilizations, which could establish a platform for sharing education information, communicating and cooperating the academic resources, exploring new system for multi-national cultivation and international communication talent cultivation for the national and regional universities along the Belt and Road.

The members of Consortium could jointly promote collaborative innovation, and strengthen the communication and cooperation among universities of consortium, teaching and scientific researches and teachers and students. I sincerely hope that in the future communication among all parties, we will persist on the principle of mutual respect and equal treatment, seek common points while reserving differences, develop jointly and promote the communication and mutual identification of different civilizations and coexistent harmoniously.

Beijing is the Capital of China, and Beijing citizens are working hard together with all Chinese people to realize the two one-hundred years of goals and realize the Chinese dream of bringing about a great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The realization of China development target needs to strengthen cooperation with all other countries around the world and learn from the others’ strong points to offset its own weakness. The development of higher education of Beijing also needs to learn from each other, mutually identify to improve jointly. I hope all colleges and universities of all countries could establish closer contract and deeper cooperation with the colleges and universities in Beijing through the platform of the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium, to jointly face to the new challenges of higher education under the background of globalization and jointly promote the development of talent cultivation, scientific research and education business of all parties.
