On October 18, 2025, BUCEA celebrated its 118th anniversary.

LI Shengyong, alumnus of the Class of 1992 (Department of Road and Bridge Engineering) and Assistant General Manager and Director of the Geological Division at BGI Engineering Consultants Ltd., joined hundreds of returning alumni, faculty, and students on the racecourse. Together they formed 33 teams across four categories—Alumni Group, Administrative Units, Schools, and Logistics & Infrastructure System—making up a field of over a thousand participants. The total course length of 11.8 kilometers symbolically echoed the university’s 118 years of history.
