BUCEA opens the 12th Annual Student Arts Festival

On October 14, the opening ceremony of the 12th Annual Student Arts Festival and 2025 Welcome Gala were held at Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA). Attending the event were ZHENG Yu, Chairman of University Council, WANG Aijun and WANG Yiming, Deputy Chairman of University Council, CHEN Zhaohui and ZHU Jing, Vice Presidents of BUCEA, XUE Yan, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of the CPC, BUCEA, and WANG Zhenyuan, Head of the Organization Department, as well as representatives of alumni, various departments, and schools. Nearly 500 faculty and student representatives attended the performance in person, while around 3,000 incoming students joined online via WeChat video livestream.

The year 2025 marks both the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and the 118th anniversary of BUCEA’s founding. The gala consisted of four thematic chapters, presented through a variety of artistic forms including dance, singing, recitation, choral performances and instrumental ensembles.

The Annual Student Arts Festival is a signature cultural event of BUCEA. Through diverse artistic activities, it aims to enrich campus culture and enhance students’ aesthetic appreciation and humanistic qualities. This year’s festival will continue with a series of vibrant cultural events to foster a strong artistic atmosphere and further cultivate students’ overall competence.
