Recently, the 11th International Exhibition of Inventions & Belt and Road and BRICS Competition of Skill Development and Technology Innovation successfully concluded. At the event, two innovative achievements from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) received accolades. The team led by Professors XIE Linlin and LI Aiqun won the Gold Award for their groundbreaking innovation in the field of engineering disaster prevention and mitigation, titled “Seismic (Vibration) Adaptive Control Technology and Its Applications in Engineering Structures”. Meanwhile, the team led by Professor WU Lina won the Silver Award for their key technological advancement and application in the field of water environment management, titled “Key Technologies and Their Applications in Advanced Treatment of Special Sewage”, marking a significant milestone for BUCEA in winning this award for the first time.
The awards are another testament to BUCEA’s long standing focus on technological innovation and its active promotion of deep integration between industry, academia, and research. The project teams tackled key challenges in engineering safety, petroleum and chemical wastewater treatment, and landfill leachate management, achieving a full-spectrum breakthrough from theoretical innovation and technical advancements to practical engineering applications. This accomplishment highlights our commitment to serving the high-quality and sustainable development of urban environments.
